Ways You Can Preserve Your Mental Health Amid COVID

Ways You Can Preserve Your Mental Health Amid COVID

From worrying about friends and family members to feeling uncertain about the future, there is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic is stressful for everybody. It is even worse for those taking depression medication for their mental health condition.

Therefore, as a mental health clinic, we would like to share tips that can help you manage your mental health during this unsettling time.

  • Concentrate on the Things You Can Control
You cannot control the number of cases. However, you can control other things, such as eating healthily and being selective with the news and information you consume. You can also create a new daily routine to give you a sense of purpose.
  • Keep Your Mind Busy
Find something healthy that can distract you from what is going on. You can write in a journal, read, draw, or play crossword puzzles.
  • Spend a Few Minutes Outside or Bring Nature Inside
Nature and even a little sunlight can do wonders for your mental well-being. If you can, then try going out for a few minutes daily (wear a mask, of course). But if you cannot go out or just do not want to risk catching the virus, then open your windows and let the sunlight in.
  • Talk About How You Are Feeling
Remember, feeling anxious as a result of the pandemic is a normal response. You have nothing to be ashamed about. Share how you are feeling to your loved ones and listen to them, too. You can help each other this way. But if you are not comfortable with speaking to them, you can speak to your psychiatrist in Houston Texas & Surprise, Arizona.

Sparks Psychiatry is here to support you during COVID and beyond. Please feel free to make an appointment with our psychiatry clinic in Houston Texas & Surprise, Arizona.
