Job Summary:
- Sparks Psychiatry is seeking a self- motivated individual with experience in Child/Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
- The Medical Assistant is responsible for coordinating care between the patients and providers, conveying messages, assisting patients with requests for prescription refills, sample medications, paperwork, etc. The Medical Assistant may also administer treatments under scope of practice, under the care of the Provider and direction from the Clinical Director.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited MA Program: Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited MA program with 2 years preferred medical assistant experience.
- Psychiatric setting experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written English proficiency.
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision within the scope of knowledge and authority of position.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Knowledge of office equipment operation (telephone system, fax/copy machine, emails etc.).
Tasks:
- Check in patients and verify Insurance.
- General administrative duties and provide assistance.
- Obtain lab results and ensure they are properly uploaded to patients chart and accessible by the Provider
- Complete Patient Assessment including checking patient’s vital signs, blood pressure, pulse, height weight and temperature as directed by clinic policies.
- Complete medical release for records and prepare records to be reviewed by the Provider.
- As assigned, complete phone triage, document calls, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
